DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION CONFERENCE 2011

A two day conference which will bring together like-minded individuals to explore the topic of digital documentation and representation of architecture & the built form.21st and 22nd September, Scottish Youth Theatre, Glasgow.
The world's cultural heritage sites are fragile, exposed to the elements, and continually at risk from acts of nature, time, and vandalism. Traditional documentation technologies and methods do not have the capacity to meet the global need for fast and accurate documentation to enable preservation, conservation, and access for our built heritage. Although there are many organisations with an interest in British heritage, the focus is generally on physical conservation or preservation rather than the new strategies and techniques offered by digital documentation.

Digital Documentation 2011 will bring together like-minded individuals to explore the topic of digital documentation and representation of architecture and the built form. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research and mix with academics and practitioners from the fields of archaeology, architecture, digital archiving, engineering, graphic design, visualisation / new media,  geography/  geomatics and natural environment research.
DD2011 will widen the scope and impact of our two previous conferences.
The delegate fee is £150 and includes refreshments and lunch.
