In Archeofoss 2020 (abstract in Zenodo ) Ben Price presented his Thesis work, a new approach based on the assessment of the feasibility and sustainability of minimal resource VR modelling and its application to small-scale archaeological research. The use of game engines in archaeology is certainly not a new thing and are being used as non-game related tools for archaeological investigation. This is a free resource that can help the development of VR archaeology.

After 25 years of successful management of the CHNT by Stadtarchäologie Vienna, the organization of the conference is under new management. From 2021 onwards, the conference on cultural heritage and new technologies will be organized by CHNT-ICOMOS Austria a sister association of the Austrian National Committee of ICOMOS.

Call for the protection of the cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh

In response to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Europa Nostra and the European Association of Archaeologists, members of the European Heritage Alliance, call for the protection of the cultural heritage in the Caucasus region. According to the heritage organisations, the cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh is “the expression of a multicultural and multireligious past and present of the region and of Europe as a whole”.
