Dal 21 al 22 Novembre 2016 a Berlino si svolgerà la Terza Conferenza Internazionale di Europeana Space dal titolo "Cultural Heritage: Reuse, Remake, Reimagine". Nascosto nei musei, archivi e biblioteche di tutta Europa risiedono infatti manufatti che raccontano una storia e sono in attesa di essere valorizzati e conosciuti. Le istituzioni culturali hanno cominciato a digitalizzare questi manufatti rendendoli disponibili on-line, in modo che gli utenti li potessero scoprire e trovarne il valore conoscendo di più sul patrimonio culturale europeo.
La digitalizzazione sta progredendo sempre più e i tesori più nascosti stanno diventando visibili. Tuttavia, nella società digitale di oggi presente sul web, non è sufficiente. Il pubblico vuole impegnarsi con la cultura, vuole creare le proprie storie, non solo leggere quelle che esistono, vuole integrare le informazioni nel loro insegnamento, i loro progetti creativi, vuole giocare con il materiale, non solo guardare. Si vuole riutilizzare, rifare, re-immaginare.
Il progetto European aSpace è un catalizzatore per la generazione di nuovi modi di impegnarsi con il patrimonio culturale digitale attraverso il riuso creativo in materia di istruzione e di apprendimento, nonché nelle industrie creative. "Cultural Heritage: Reuse, Remake, Reimagine", la terza conferenza del progetto Europeana Space, presenterà la miriade di modi in cui il patrimonio culturale può essere utilizzato e arricchito attraverso le nuove tecnologie, l'innovazione e l'ingegno delle industrie creative.

Cultural Heritage: Reuse, Remake, Reimagine

Hidden in museums, archives and libraries around Europe sit artifacts that tell a story and are waiting for their day in the sun. The Cultural Heritage institutions began to digitize these artifacts making them available online, so that users would discover them and find value in learning more about Europe’s cultural heritage. Digitization is progressing and more hidden treasures are becoming visible. However, in today’s digital society existing on the web is not enough. Audiences want to engage with culture, they want to create their own stories not just read the ones that exist, they want to integrate the information in their teaching, their creative projects, they want to play with the material, not only look at it. They want to reuse, they want to remake, they want to reimagine.
The EuropeanaSpace project is a catalyzer for generating new ways of engaging with digital cultural heritage through creative reuse in education and learning as well as in the creative industries. Cultural Heritage: Reuse, Remake, Reimagine, the third conference from the Europeana Space project, will showcase the myriad ways that cultural heritage can be used and enriched through new technologies, innovation and the ingenuity of the creative industries.
