The X International Training Summer School will take place from Monday 22 July to Friday 2 August 2019 in the territories of Matera (from Monday 22 to Friday 26 July 2019), Viggiano (from Friday 26 to Monday 29 July) and Alberobello (from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August 2019).
The presence of teachers and participants coming from Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Brazil, China, India, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Venezuela will give value to the international breath of the X International Training Summer School.
The use of new technologies applied to the survey of the Territory and of Architecture will be explored.
The X International Summer School will focus its studies on some places of unquestionable historical and architectural value in the Lucanian and Apulian panorama. In Matera, it will be detected and will represent an area of the "Rioni Sassi" with particular attention to some "rock churches" and some "water" collection and supply sites. In Alberobello, we will continue the survey and the representation, with the use of the "new technologies", the "fogge" and the "trullo Tinelli" for structural and architectural studies.
The registration deadline expires on Saturday 18 May 2019, until the place is full (maximum 45 participants).
The cost includes:
- registration for the theoretical and practical courses of the X International Training Summer School;
- accommodation from July 22nd (check in) to August 3rd (check out) 2019;
- meals as reported in the program (comparable to half-board);
- transfers by bus or train to the locations where the survey work will take place;
- medical insurance;
- insurance of the instruments used.
The technologies and methodologies used for surveying and documentation will be:
- Architectonic Photogrammetry;
- Georadar;
- Interferometric Radar;
- Geographic Information System (GIS);
- Global Positioning System (GPS);
- 3D Mapping Mobile System (HERON by GEXCEL);
- 3D Laser Scanner;
- Stereometric Modeling;
- Rapid Prototyping;
- Satellite Remote Sensing and UAV;
- Thermography.
These are non-invasive technologies and methodologies able to thoroughly analyze the morphology of the artefacts and design the consequent interventions for their protection.
